모아쓰기는 과연 한국어를 적기에 적합한 방식인가? 한글의 모아쓰기로 인해 한국어 화자들은 두 모음 사이의 자음을 앞 글자의 종성으로 써야 하는지 뒤 글자의 초성으로 써야 하는지 고민하게 됐고, 한글 맞춤법 제정/개정 시 ㄴ 첨가나 사이시옷이나 ㅎ 말음 체언의 잔재 등의 문제로 골머리를 썩이게 됐다고 할 수 있다.
Is a syllabary-like feature really a suitable way of writing Korean? Because of the syllabary-like feature of hangul, Korean speakers have to carefully think whether a consonant between two vowels should be written as a final consonant of the preceding syllable or as an initial consonant of the following syllable, and things like n-insertion, middle s and remnants of h-final nouns/pronouns/numerals are headaches when establishing or revising the hangul orthography.
